Most people have a boat or waverunner to enjoy it, not to get headaches. You have to keep certain things in mind.

• There were 13 million vessels registered in the U.S. in 2007; though there are millions more which remain unregistered
   
• Not all of boat owners are licensed
   
• What if you accidentally hit one of the 10’s of millions of water skiers and swimmers
   
• Your watercraft could get damaged at dock, out at sea or while in transport
   
• In 2007, there were 5,109 accidents, 3,673 injuries and 685 fatalities and a resulting $53,106,496 in property damage
   
• Approximately 86% of all fatalities (in 2007) occurred on vessels where the operator had not received boating safety instruction
   
• Alcohol was involved in 21% of all boating fatalities in 2007

Since you can’t control everyone on the water, make sure you have adequate coverage for you and the ones you love.
